Mommy Must Have Mondays! Camera

Alex's 6 Month update will be next week, after his appt.

Well I have always been one of those people who takes a ton a pictures every opportunity that I get.  And that only became more true with the birth of our son.

I have always seen the DSLR cameras and dreamed of one day having one.  And back at the end of the September last year I bought one.  I have never been so in love with a device.

I have always been the most satisfied with Canon cameras, I have tried Kodak and Nikon and just never fell in love with them.  I always had trouble getting motion shots on those two brands and never noticed an issue with the Canons.  Kodak and Nikon were always developed some kind of issue shortly after buying them also.

So when it came time to chose the camera of my dreams I knew exactly where to start.  And fortunately for me I was able to order one off of QVC and do a payment plan because I never would have been able to do it without that.

So after reading all of that, this post is basically to say I believe a mommy  must have is a good camera!

Alex's 6 Month Sneak Peek!

I was too excited not to share this!

We had Alex's 6 month photos done today and this is the sneak peek I got from Rachel tonight.  I knew she would do excellent since the photos she took for Alex's 3 month session turned out so well!

Rachel is the owner of Faith, Trust & Pixel Dust Photography.

Not only is she amazing at what she does, but she is family too!

If you live in the Cincinnati area and would like her info, just drop me a line!

Super Charged Sunday! My Backwards Crawler!

So this is what Chris and I have been dealing with over the last couple of days, not that it is a problem.

Alex has started crawling backwards!  It is not a consistent motion but it is kind of like he is inching back.  He will get up onto his knees and then scoot back.  He is all over the room, but has not figured out how to follow us quite yet.

This is such a fun milestone and I know it means that crawling is right around the corner and unlike most moms I am so excited for it!

SO Disappointed Saturday!

So I am sure if you have read by blog at any point you know that in my house we bleed orange and black and LOVE the Bengals!

Well you may also know that today the Bengals played their wild-card playoff game against the Texans for the second year in a row.

Last year was incredibly miserable to watch!  I never figured one play could ruin a team's game play for the rest of the game until I watched that game.

When I heard we would be playing the Texans again I have to admit I had a small fear the same thing would happen at this game that happened the year before.  But after reading about the Texans last few games I began to think well maybe this will be different?  Maybe since we have another year as a team under our belts we will beat them if not crush them!

I mean what are the odds that we would play the same team in the same game two years in a row?

Well the odds are obviously not in our favor.  I watched the game today and I must admit it was better but it still left me feeling like we were a high school team playing against pros.

Now I am not an expert at football but I know some but I feel that our defense definitely did not play as well as they have been but they played a heck of a lot better than the offense.

Well I can't stand to write any more about this.

I will continue to be a Bengals forever!  I will not be a bandwagon fan!  And I must say this is still my favorite picture in my house!

Thankful Thursday! 1-3-13

This Thursday I am so thankful for a new year!

We all survived 2012 as I knew we would!

Chris and I such a turbulent year!  It was so full of ups and downs and the birth of our son!

Somedays we feel like we have had more downs than ups but Alex coming into our lives made up for all of those.

Chris and I are looking to make things in our lives better.  We are taking the new year and using it as a clean slate.  We are starting fresh, with bills and paying off things and so on.

Another thing I am thankful for are all of the people who blessed Alex so tremendously this past Christmas.  I am in the process of making thank you cards for everyone, that I am so excited for!  They are soo cute!

We were all so blessed this Christmas, it left me with a speechless feeling.

Well I feel like I am rambling now so I will talk to you all tomorrow.

Alex's First Snow

One of my favorite gifts that Alex got for Christmas was a child's toboggan.

So the day after Christmas we got a Blizzard!  It only amounted to about 3 inches where we live but the weather channel classified it as a blizzard.

Of course Chris and I both had to work the day of the storm so we couldn't take Alex out while it was snowing but we sure as heck took him out the next day when by chance we were both off!

So here are a few good pics I was able to snap while Alex enjoyed his toboggan!

"Mommy I am not so sure about this."

Daddy pulling Alex in his toboggan.

What a cute smile!

Goodness I love him!

Look at those baby blues!

Then thanks to quick thinking by Daddy, after the seat belt on the toboggan broke and Alex began to fall out Daddy grabbed him, they did a little flip and everyone is safe.

New Years Resolutions 2013

So this year I really want to set some goals for myself.  Most years I just push them off and say, "Well i will never carry them out so why make them?"

But this year I am going to make a change!

My goals for this year I have thought long and hard about.  And I am going to make an honest effort to follow through with them.

Here they are:

1.  Spend at least 1 hour a day, with no TV and just play with Alex.
On the days I work this is the hardest, but I WILL do it!

2.  Go to Church more.  I am not going to set a limit on that but in 2012 I only went probably 4 or 5 times, if that.  I really want to spend this year getting more connected with God.

3.  Pray each night before bed.
I always say how I am going to add someone to my prayers and I do, however I really just keep them in my thoughts throughout the day.  And I usually think of them often but I never really say a real prayer.   So my goal is to change that.

4.  Read at least 20 books.
I used to read so much!  I would finish 2 books a week when I was really reading.  But once I started into nursing school that all changed.  All I read were textbooks and nursing things.  But I want to get back into reading real books and do it for fun.

I think these goals I have set are realistic and achievable and as I accomplish them I will only add to them, not say, "Well I accomplished my goals, now I can be lazy for the rest of the year."

So now I plan to check back in on these goals with you all maybe once or twice this year.

I hope I can really stick to them.
